Parallel Activities

Beyond the film screenings, Kinoforum promotes a series of parallel activities that connect the public and audiovisual professionals around reflections on how to view, create, produce, and distribute short films.

One of the highlights is Curta & Mercado, a space dedicated to the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of the short film production chain, with debates, meetings, and roundtable discussions on circulation, financing, and commercialization. In this edition, the program welcomes back Kinoforum Labs, laboratories focused on the development of short and feature film projects, with specialized tutoring from leading professionals in the sector. Among the topics on the agenda are the relationship between short and feature formats in audiovisual production, the role of the soundtrack in cinematic narrative, and strategies for the internationalization of short films, with the participation of international curators.

The rapprochement between the audiovisual and academic worlds is promoted by the Conexão USP-Kinoforum project, which holds programs and seminars focused on research and critical debate. This year, the initiative also includes a university exhibition dedicated to VR/360º works.

Complementing the program, Cinema na Comunidade (Cinema in the Community) brings short film screenings to cultural spaces in different regions of São Paulo, promoting democratic access to cinema and contributing to the formation of new audiences.
