USP-KINOFORUM CONNECTION: DEBATE: HIGHER EDUCATION IN AUDIOVISUAL STUDIES, 25 YEARS

In 2000, ECA-USP merged its Film and Radio and Television courses to create the Audiovisual Higher Education Course, in response to the trend toward convergence in the media. The course quickly became a national benchmark and was adopted by the Ministry of Education as a model for the creation of new audiovisual courses in different Brazilian states. Today, 25 years later, it is important to celebrate, but also to analyze its successes, mistakes, and challenges for the future. The panel will feature Prof. Carlos Calil, the main creator of the program, and several alumni who are prominent figures in the audiovisual field.
