LORCA OPERATION
Brazil (SP) | 2024 | cor | 1 min
Operation Lorca rediscovers the history of the monument created by Flávio de Carvalho in honor of the poet Federico García Lorca: a work destroyed during the dictatorship in an attack by the far-right group CCC (Communist Hunting Command), abandoned in a city hall warehouse, rescued in the late 1970s by students from FAU and ECA (among them Fernando Meirelles, Carlos Nascimbeni, Fernando Furuiti, Nina Grushenko, Marcelo Bernardini, Mariana Martins, and Marcelo Machado) and returned to the city's most iconic landmark. It sparks a debate about memory in the city, the students, and their political involvement.
